Welcome back to LASH Construction’s Community Portal. Here you will find monthly updates on the progress of our Distinction residential condominium project located at 11 Lillian St. (the corner of Lillian and Soudan.) Our goal is to provide the community with an interactive space where we provide updates on our progress, as well as the ability to contact the developer with questions or concerns relating to the project. Please always remember if a situation is observed that is an actual emergency please contact 911.
The summer is moving quickly in the neighborhood of Yonge and Eglington. Weather has been co-operating and we are moving quickly down to our target elevation. Our excavation, dewatering, and shoring contracts are all working in concert daily to move further and further towards our target depth. By the end of August, the final row of tiebacks will be in place, caisson walls will have been shaved back and we will be preparing the base of the pit to pour the first areas of concrete. The very first pour on site will be the raft slab. This is the very base of the buildings structure. With this, we begin the process of building back towards the sky. Concrete trucks will soon become a daily occurrence on site. We have been working with City of Toronto Staff and the Councillors office on co-coordinating our flow and staging of traffic in the neighborhood.
By months end you should see the site profile at ground level make some drastic changes. The chain link fence that has been present since we began demolition many moons ago will be removed and construction hoarding will be erected. This will block off the perimeter of the site with solid material, as well as direct pedestrians, via a covered walkway, around the perimeter of the site on Lillian Street and along Soudan Avenue. Delivery trucks will be entering site off Lillian Street and exiting back on to Lillian at Soudan allowing us to do all our loading and unloading on site, not off the road. At the request of the Councillors office, City of Toronto Staff, and the Community Rate-Payers Association we will be working with local arts groups to adorn the hoarding to help beautify the neighbourhood while we complete our construction at the Distinction.
As per our previous updates and community meetings/discussions with the Councillors office /City of Toronto staff it is our goal not to cause any unnecessary disturbance to the residents of the area. As we move forward with the project if you have a question, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at LASH.
