The sky is the limit at Lillian and Soudan. Residential floor forming is still taking place as we move towards the buildings final model.
Rebar and concrete are still being utilized daily in this phase. Forming trucks will also be utilized during this phase. Concrete wall and column pours are preceded by slab pours. The 19th floor walls, columns, slabs and the Mechanical penthouse will be the goal to have completed this month. Interior blocks will continue upwards and brick façade has commenced along the east and north elevations. Exterior Stud work has started and windows will be delivered and installed up to the 10th floor. Plumbing, sheet metal and electrical work has started throughout. The hoist has been installed and is running up to the 15th floor of the building and the Interior elevator installation has commenced.
As the slabs are formed, they require the most amount of concrete to complete. Generally a day on site when we pour a slab section the physical pouring of the concrete takes the majority of the working day, with finishing continuing on well into the evening hours. It is common, and it is necessary, for this process to last well into the evening hours. Please note that City of Toronto bylaw allows for this necessary step to occur.
There have been some inquiry about this process. As always we are working with all our trades to mitigate any and all unnecessary noise being created.
After a slab is poured, power troweled and finished, wall and column forms are placed on top to reach towards the next residential level; and yet another slab pour. Exterior and interior demising elements are poured at the same time. As well Electricians, Plumbers, and HVAC/Mechanical trades are prepping the walls and slab for future piping/electrical and HVAC connections.
Concrete and Structural Reinforcement Bar continue to be on order every day and will be coming and going from site as necessary.
